In 2011 production of the up! began. At the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 VW presented several up! concept cars. The up! Azzura Sailing Team can be seen as a modern interpreation of beach cars like the Fiat 500 Jolly. The car is driven by an electric motor and Giugiaro integrated a shower for the beach.
