I went to the classic car meeting Sunday 16th to see what the topic „Der Hüftschwung aus Rüsselsheim – 60zig Jahre Opel Rekord C“ ('The hip swivel from Rüsselsheim – 60 years of the Opel Rekord C') might reveal. Again all other car makes were welcome. This time, due to the ongoing heat, there were less cars when I arrived arround 10:30. But later especially the Opel area got more and more filled with nice cars. Cars form the Opel Classic collection as a works support was also on display. (...)

After my first visit in the mid 1980s I finally found the time to visit the Baden Baden 'Oldtimer-Meeting', one of the oldest classic car meetings in germany. The 49th edition from 10th to 12th of July 2026 had cars from the early years of the automobile until 1979 on display. Even so the extremly hot tempreatures of this summer made the strolling through the parc and on the Kaiserallee very exhausting the visit was worth it.

Starting in May and ending in September this monthly meeting of classic cars takes place at the Draiser Hof in Eltville-Erbach (Rheingau) in between the winyards. Every month comes with a different motto this time with a focus on cars of the 1930s but all other classic cars are invited to join these meetings.

The 21st Classic-Gala at Schwetzingen was held from 5th to 7th September 2025. As always a huge amount of high quality collectible cars was on display and some birthdays were celebrated. 125 years of Adler, 110 years of Aston Martin, 70 years of Alpine as well as the 70th birthdays of the MG A and the Mercedes-Benz 190 SL were on the programm.  How to find the best car of the show or for all the other over 50 categories seems to be a difficult job for the jury. This annual event in Hattersheim near Frankfurt am Main is always worth a trip. Located around the city centre and the 'Stadtpark' this open meeting shows a variety of cars changing through the 2 days as the guests arrive drive by and visit the garden party with family and friends. Besides the classic cars there are fire engine or rescue demonstrations from the local fire department as well as entertainment for the kids.

Here are some last pictures of the 20th Classic-Gala was held at Schwetzingen. More pictures cover the HMSC Rallye Wiesbaden which will hold the 40th edition of this event end of May this year. A great variety of cars is always presented at the Klassikertage Hattersheim, an open event that always has some surprising cars and last but not lease some more pictures from the Loh Collection.

Here are more pictures of the 20th Classic-Gala was held at Schwetzingen. Including the large variety of Veritas cars that were on display at the park entry. As already posted before there are more images of the Loh Collection and their Ferrari special show. Also find some pictures of the Hattersheimer Klassikertage and the HMSC Concours in Wiesbaden. Almost a year has past since my last update. This update covers cars built until second world war. The majority are from the 20th Classic-Gala held at Schwetzingen where several car manaufacturers were celebrating their birthdays. 120 years Rolls-Royce, 100 years Chrysler as well as 85 years of Borgward. Except for this beautiful event I visited the HMSC Oldtimer Rallye Wiesbaden in May and went to see the Nationales Automuseum | The Loh Collection including the Ferrari special exhibition. (...)
